No Poo

7 months ago I decided to stop using conventional hair care in general, shampoo, conditioner, hair oils.

I use just water to clean hair as in my area we have soft water, and I do that 2 times a week, but there many different things to use such as:

  • Apple cider vinegar
  • bicarbonate of soda
  • soap nuts (A VIDEO on soap nuts)

Finding something to use is different for all hair types. I have thin hair but a lot of hair.

When i went no poo, my hair started growing in length and in thickness, it is so much more soft and less straggly. I have barley as many split ends after cutting my hair, and so it is 10x stronger. It is exactly the same as shampoo, but i have found much less build up and my hair can not get as greasy as quick.

After one month my hair started to feel really crunchy and groggy, very greasy. But it only lasted 2 weeks, I think the reason it lasted such a short time is because before hand i was only washing it twice a week. I recommend slowing down and reducing how much shampoo/ hair care you use to about once a week over the period of i would say 3 months.
If you keep brushing your hair it will spread the oils go down the ends of your hair, and keep going through the process of greasy, waxy hair as it will end.

Reasons No Poo Is More Environmental;
  • No packaging, as even though shampoo bars don't have packaging, but there is more in the process of making it.
  • Ingredients, some ingredients in shampoo and hair care is really bad for the environment, with deforestation and so death or extinction of animals (Here is VIDEO on how make up is bad for the environment, talking about deforestation and animal extinction.)
  • Hairs health, i felt stripping back my hair most days felt wrong and unnatural.

Things To Do For Self-Care

A list of things i love to do for self-care....

Water
An obvious, but still good one to do for self care. This isn't one like have spa! but more of a good self caring thing to do everyday.

Skincare
Something I really love to do is skincare, you could double this up with a spa. Take some time really get into your pores and cleanse them right through. This makes me feel amazing.

Yoga/Meditation
Quite a well known thing to do for self care. But I have to stay  it is my favourite. I do yoga and meditation anyway, but if i was having a self care day i would really take some time with it.

Burn sage
I love burning sage, you can get it online and in some stores. This gets rid of any negative energy. I am not to fond on the smell, but it really refreshes the room.

Art
Art really calms me it might not be for everyone, but everyone can do it so give it a go. Pop on the TV and DRAW!

Make/Gather inspiring pictures
Pretty much a vision board (I have a Blog Post on how to make one.) I love to see them everyday to help me stay on the right path.

Rest
Sometimes its good to take a little time to sit in front of the TV with a cuppa tea, and just be calm. You have no worries no thoughts no nothing when your doing this. You'll get a good earned re-charge.

Dry Brushing
Try dry brushing Lavendaire mentions how to do it Here.

Thank you for reading, there will be a post/video coming soon on what self care is. I have a YouTube channel you can check out.
I will see you on Monday for a brand new post.

Burts Bees Radiance Toner:
I have been loving this toner from burts bees, not much to say other than it works really, really well!

My Fresh Pamper Routine

My Pamper Routine To Feel Fresh And Springy...

I firstly get into my clean fresh pjs.

Then the next thing I do is set the scene. Light a few candles and make sure my room is extremely tidy.

Thirdly i do my yoga//meditation to calm the mind and body.

Next I don't actually have a bath, because I don't feel all the freshest afterwards i actually feel quite clogged, so I have a nice looonnngg shower. I use the lush I love juicy shampoo, my favourite shampoo at the moment, i always use lush shampoo and conditioner, because they are just luxurious. The conditioner from lush is there Happy Happy Joy Joy, amazing! And i never really stick to a shower gel but i do like the body shops.

After my shower I work on my face and use the The Body Shop drops of youth liquid peel. This is the most amazing, most weirdest products ever! You rub it onto clean skin and all these little bits come off that are your dead skin cell. I use that then my do my Evening Skincare.

Then it is usually time to do my hair so i put in the Aussie leave-in conditioner, and brush it with my tangle teaser.

And that is what I do to have a nice relaxing fresh spa, as sometimes i can feel quite clogged and not to clean after a spa, but i don't in this routine. I also have YouTube Channel I post on there every Monday.

Morning Skincare Routine

What Skincare I Use On A Fresh New Day.....

I firstly splash some water on my face to then put on my face wash. This one is by L'Occitane and its there shea foaming cleanser. I love this so much because it really makes my skin moisturised and soft, but also cleansing. This also helps with blackheads, but i think that is mainly to-do with my electric facial washer by love my skin this is such an amazing product, and i have found it to really  help with blemishes and blackheads.

Next I walk over to mirror on the floor to start with some more products.

Okay I now use Toner I love this one by neals yard, this is there rose re hydrate. This one again I find to help with blemishes, to prevent them and to remove them. I can really see when I haven't used this.

After that I go in with the product that has massively and almost magically changed my skin. This is White Willow. I have mentioned this multiple times, but this is amazing it started working instantly and made a huge difference instantly ( And by instantly I mean overnight!) This helps with little red or clear bumps on your skin, trust me I know how annoying they are but this will remove them pretty quick, at least they did for me.

Then I don' t always do this step but, I put Tea Tree oil on my blemishes. Another amazing help really clears them up. But like I said I only do this when I have them.

The last step is moisturiser, and I do have oily skin, but this actually helps, for many different reasons of which I am not going to bore you with. In the morning I use the body shop Seaweed oil control gel cream. As it says in the title it deals with oil, and may I say that it deals with it very well. I have noticed a huge, huge difference using this.

Thank you so much for reading my morning skincare routine. I also did an Evening Skincare Routine. I have a YouTube channel as well.

What Helps Clear My Skin

Things That I Have Found That Helps My Skin....

(I have listed 3 things on here that help my skin and 6 more in a YouTube Video.)

To start with everybody has different skin so not all these things will work, and some of these things are very harsh and I will mention if they are harsh, so maybe if you have sensitive skin don't try these or find a way around it.

My Skin Type:

I have oily//combination skin so my pores get quite clogged. I don't have sensitive skin also. I don't have that bad skin at least I think and I am so very grateful for that, I get some blemishes and a lot of blackheads.

The first and main thing that helped is Tea Tree Oil, and actually a lot of essential oils, they are an amazing natural remedy's, so defiantly have a look into those. What I do to apply my tea tree oil, is soak a cotton bud in it a place it straight onto my blemishes. Now if you have sensitive skin this may not be great, or at least diluted it, and if it burns wipe it straight off, it may burn a little but if your not comfortable with that take it straight off. So I would use this at your own risk it is very harsh.

Secondly is a scrub, its the St. Ives naturally clear blemish fighting scrub. This so incredible I love it. But I use once every 1 and 1/2 weeks because again very harsh, it is not a gentle scrub, but I don't have any trouble with a harsh scrub, but still am careful because it will soon start causing damage. Yes it just really gets out any blackheads, really helps my blemishes and also helps prevent them.

Pore strips, so simple, but they work a charm. I love to use the Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing strips or there Charcoal ones there also really good. The strips really get into your pores, and even though there expensive, none work quite as well as these ones do, they also last a while.

Thank you so much for reading I really hope enjoyed and gave you some ideas to clear up your skin.
I also have a YouTube channel if you want to check that out also.

December//January favourtites

What I have been Loving Through Out December and January....

Its to early to do a January favourites, but to late to do a December one so here they are combined.

This first may be at the top of my favourites just as it has helped me so much. It is White willow bark or just white willow. This helps if you have little bumps on your face I heard about this from Fiona Frills, and this has been the only thing that has helped me. It clears them and overnight I really recommend this and it is not expensive, all though it smells awful, but if it is going to clear your skin then that fine. What I do with it is put the tiniest bit on the back of my hand and rub it into my problem areas and it works a treat.

After that there is a water bottle and this I would advice you get the smaller one, but anyway it is the Joseph Joseph dot hydration. And this you twist the cap and a dot shows up, you twist the cap when you have drunk a bottle of water, and so you can keep track of how much water you have drunk.

Next I have really been enjoying the Keihl's midnight recovery cleansing oil. I use this to take my make up off at night, and it instantly with barley any rubbing removes your make up. It is all natural, but is really expensive. if you were thinking of treating yourself to a high end cleanser, then this is the one for you.

Okay so next is a lip balm, because this time of year I had to include one. It is the Burts bees Ultra conditioning lip balm. This (Other than Blistex, which sometimes is a little strong,) is my favourite lip balm, its really buttery, but not in a greasy way, smells not to strong. It is just my favourite lip balm all round.

After that we have the Bullet Journal. Which I have been loving using to plan my work stuff and it is a real help. Here is a couple videos on bullet journals that I love one by Lily Pebbles and a shorter one by Jusuf. And I talk about my January Bullet Journal here in a post

Thank you so much for reading my January and December favourites I hope you got some inspiration from it. I have a YouTube channel As well!

My Second EyeKo Review.

My Thoughts On Some More EyeKo Products.....

so firstly is the Black Magic Mascara. The wand on this is a curling one, which is nice, it definitely curls but I cant tell if it holds or not because I didn't leave it on for long enough. The only thing is that if you hate clumps, then this might not be the one for you, it may clump up a tiny bit. You can also buy this in  A Pack (With an eyeliner but I have already tested that.)

Next is a Brow Gel, a mascara (But I tested that mascara before.) And an EyeLiner (Which I'll talk about later in the post.) This is a lovely little set, full of minis that are all useful. So the brow gel (Tinted.) I didn't own a tinted brow gel before this and i'm pleasantly surprised. It's extremely natural, it sets your brows and make them more there, standing out more, but in a natural why. Defiantly getting a full sized.

Next is the Eyeliner in the set. The eyeliner is a felt tip one. When I first saw it, I thought oh no its chunky, but I used and it was very, very easy to use. I am awful at eyeliner but with this at least I was able to get close to the lash line. (Well it wasn't great, but it was the best I have ever done.)

Next is these Eyeshadow crayons. I have them in taupe and charcoal. These are a little dark but I can make them work. So I made this look and put the taupe one. (Which is this coppery gold colour,) All over the lid, and put a stroke of the charcoal on the back of my hand, dunked my brush in there and put that one all through my crease.

Charcoal....

Taupe....

Lastly is the Sport Waterproof Mascara. If you like dramatic mascara, thats bold and completely stands out through all your makeup, this is isn't for you but if you like soft, fluttery and LONG lashes, than you'll like this mascara. It really makes your lashes lengthy. This a very odd wand, if you have seen the benefit 24 hour brow setter, it looks like that, like a fish.

The results... (Only on the left hand side)

Thank for reading, my last BlogPost, I talked all about my perfumes. My YouTube Channel, go on there to see another side of me.
See you on Monday....

Trying Benefit Make-up

What A Few Of The Benefit Make-up Products Look Like And My Thoughts On Them.....

So the first product is the There Real Mascara. I have to say that the packaging felt very luxury in my hands. This product in a way is separating but kind of clumps a few lashes together. I really like this mascara, and I know there is no such thing as a night time mascara but it reminds me of it, sort of glam-ish look.

As you can see in the image, it is sort of separating the lashes but making sure you can see every one of them.

For the next item I am testing, the High Beam Liquid Highlighter. This highlighter is great because you can make a very natural highlight by not using much, and then intensify it by using more. It is easy to blend but you do have to be quick, there is no time to screw the lid back on (I made this mistake.) For a natural look, put on 2 dots, and for intense put on 3 strokes, you can also build this up to make the right amount for you.

Three dots was the perfect in-between for me.

You can blend this out with your finger or a blending sponge.

After that I am going to show you the Galifoina Blusher This blusher has a little highlight-ery flecks in it which are really pretty. It is a pechy-pinky colour but it is not orange. There is not much to say about blusher, other than it is the perfect amount of pigment and is easy to blend. Also I blended this in with stippling brush from jack wills.

Thirdly is this Eye Brow Setter. Again not much to say but I did wear this for the whole day and my eye brows budged a little but no more than you would expect. It smells delicious and the wand remind me of a fish.

See The Fish???

Next is this That Gal Face Primer. This primer claims to brighten your skin, which it did but I only used this under my eyes, with concealer on top, but from what I can see it looked pretty good. I don't wear primer that often mainly because if anything I just put concealer on my spot. I blended it all together with a Real Techniques Sponge.

Last but not least is the Double The Lip In Lusty Rose. I have tried double the lips before but not lusty rose. There are really good for a handbag because there easy and quick. This colour is definitely very dark but it may come to use for going out at night.

Have a lovely weekend and with the links to John Lewis have discounts!!
